The examined project involved the construction of a pipette dropper for laboratory use, consisting of a wider upper part with pump function, a central part engraved with a graduated scale from 1 to 3 ml, a capillary end part. Given its function, the material required for this product had to be particularly elastic and soft; however, the production of this pipette by blow moulding resulted in the presence of flash over the entire perimeter and its automatic removal. Therefore the material used had to be soft but also rigid enough to allow the scrap shearing operation. Reason for which it was opted for an adequate mixture of LDPE and EVA.
The final result was a compact blow-moulding extrusion machine with a 3-cavity mould with an hourly output of 2000 units / hour, which later evolved into another machine for the production of 16,000 pieces / hour.
